FAQs

How do you pronounce heune?

Heune is pronounced eun-e, a nod to the Korean meaning of the word 'gentle' or 'delicate.'

How does heune make soap?

Heune soap bars are made using cold process, which is a gentle method of saponification that allows us to create products from scratch with minimal impact on nutrients. It is a longer process that requires a higher level of care, but it produces soaps of a more refined quality and retains the benefits from the natural ingredients we use.

What ingredients do you put in your soaps?

Our ingredients are carefully selected for sustainability, quality, and health impact. We can guarantee our soaps are ethically produced, vegan, cruelty-free, plant-based, and additive free. This means our soaps are not only good for you but good for the earth.

Ingredients differ for each soap, and more information can be found on the Products page.

Who can use heune soap?

It is never fun to buy a product, test it out, and realize it doesn't work for you and your skin. Our soap was originally created for people who suffer from skin problems, like eczema, rosacea, dermatitis, and the works. But the formulas we've developed are inclusive of all skin types. Heune soaps are gentle, moisturizing, and healing for everyone.

What if I'm allergic to one, or some, of the ingredients used?

All of our soaps have different formulations. If you're allergic to any of the ingredients used in a specific soap bar, check out some of our other offerings. You can also contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We want to help you find a product that works for you.

Why is the restock time so long?

Fun fact: Cold process soap requires an average of 4-6 weeks of curing time. Check out "What is cold process soap?" in the FAQs above to learn more.

Our careful selection and handcrafting process means it takes time to stay stocked. Contact us if you're curious about when an out of stock product will become available. We are grateful for your patience.

How long will one bar last?

Our soap bars are multipurpose, so you can use it to wash your face, hands, and body. Each bar of soap averages 4 oz. in weight, but because our soaps are hand cut, they may vary minimally in size. You can expect one bar of soap to last you 3-4 weeks. To get the most out of your bar, make sure water fully drains from the soap to minimize solubility, and allow your soap bar to breathe in a cool, well-ventilated area.
